Standard cell libraries are the building blocks of primitive Boolean, combinatorial, and memory functions that are required by digital designers. These pre-developed (reference) blocks or cells have common features which allow them to be abutted and interconnected without restriction.
Cell libraries may be designed for manual placement or designed to be compatible with LayPAR , and are available in various technologies from matricus. A custom library development service is offered on request.
Many libraries available from foundry sources require no changes, although the LayPAR interface files will need to be generated. These files are similar in function to the Library Exchange Files (LEF) used in other systems. A re-targeting service, for circumstances in which such libraries must be re-targeted to the LayTOOLS environment, is available on request.
